Scholarship Softball Tournament

RULES


1. TOURNAMENT WILL EITHER BE DOUBLE ELIMINATION OR 3 GAME GUARANTEE, DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF ENTERED TEAMS.

2. ALL BATTERS WILL START WITH A 1 BALL AND 1 STRIKE COUNT

3. CO-ED: MUST HAVE 2 FEMALES FIELDING AND BATTING AT ALL TIMES.

4. ALL TEAMS MUST SUBMIT THEIR ROSTER PRIOR TO THEIR 1ST. GAME.

5. PLAYERS ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO PLAY ON ONE TEAM.

6. THE OFFICIAL JUDGE HAS THE FINAL SAY IN PICKING UP PLAYERS.

7. A FOUL ON THE 3RD STRIKE IS AN OUT.

8. ANY BALL WITH A 6’ TO 12’ ARC, THAT HIT’S THE PLATE OR THE STRIKE MAT, IS A

9. REMEMBER, OUR UMPIRES ARE VOLUNTEERS: PLEASE TREAT THEM WITH RESPECT.

10. BE KIND AND COURTEOUS TO YOUR FELLOW PLAYERS.

11. NO ALCOHOL TO BE IN THE BENCH AREAS.

12. ALL TEAMS MUST BE READY TO PLAY 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO THEIR SCHEDULED GAME TIME

13. 12 RUN RULE AFTER THE 5TH INNING

14. WE WILL FOLLOW ALL ASA RULES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF STEALING BASES.

15.  THIS TOURNAMENT WILL BE A WOODEN BAT TOURNAMENT. BATS MUST BE ONE PIECE, ALL WOOD, SOFTBALL BATS. FEMALES MAY USE ASA APPROVED BATS.


The scholarship is open to any 2017 high school graduate that is furthering their education in any field this fall.  Applicants must be a member themselves or the child of an active employee/member of a Vermont police, fire, EMS or Corrections agency.  Scholarship application must be received by September 1, 2017 and the winner(s) will be announced at this year’s tournament.  This is a second semester scholarship, winner must show proof of passing grades at the end of the first semester and will then receive their money prior to the beginning of the second semester.
